As a Cash Application Resolution Specialist, you will work closely with the Credit Management and Cash Application team to help support the various cash application functions as well as identify and resolve customer payment discrepancies. You will help us ensure customer payments are posted correctly and timely as well as identify areas to help improve our processes.
What you’ll do:
Lead Payment Application Reconciliations:
Analyze remittance detail, research, problem solve to ensure timely and accurate cash application
Review and resolve difficult customer account reconciliations while identifying the root cause in order to help implement change to prevent future issues
Communicate recommended process change in order to initiate the corrective action plan for each unique customer payment issue
Resolve customer (internal & external) inquiries regarding payment applications
Collaborate with the Cash Reconciliation team to resolve misapplications or duplications of payments on cash accounts or balance variance accounts
Identify customers will difficult remittances and propose change, training or additional tools to help ensure payments are posted correctly
Support Cash Application Functions:
Work closely to support and serve as a resource to the cash application team
Ability to perform all duties of the cash application team, including but not limited to posting/reversing payments in all cash application systems
Maintain integrity of cash management systems
Assist team members with new or complicated payment applications
Design and implement process improvements to include training programs and initiatives to help reduce payment application errors
Manually apply payments from acquired AR for various acquisitions
Assist with Special Projects
Innovative champion of process improvement & proponent of change, consistently looking for a more efficient way of completing tasks and preventing issues
Manage unapplied payments and accounts as assigned
Assist with internal and external audit requests:
Assist Management Team with process improvement and implementation of projects as needed
Cross-train and assist with other teams within the credit department
Assist the Lien Waiver team with the process of waivers
Assist the New Accounts team with the process of new accounts
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in related field preferred
Cash application experience and Accounting knowledge preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, & Outlook)
Advanced payment reconciliation skills
Strong communication skills with both internal and external customers
Organized with the ability to multitask
Innovative with the ability to accept change
Keen attention to detail for troubleshooting and problem solving and preventing reoccurrence
Team player, collaborative within own group and cross functionally to achieve goals
