United Rentals Credit Coordinator in Charlotte, North Carolina

As a Credit Coordinator at United Rentals, you will coordinate all aspects of collection for delinquent accounts referred to third-party agents.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Identify delinquent accounts for collection efforts and initiates collection activity after completing final collection efforts on behalf of the Company

  • Refer accounts to third-party collection agencies and attorneys as appropriate

  • Ensure all legal and collection data is complete and accurate; In preparation of legal proceedings, reviews information gathered for third party agencies

  • Work with credit management team to negotiate customer settlements, and reviews settlement releases with customers through third party

  • Oversee placement, status and recovery of accounts placed to collection agencies or attorneys, as necessary prepare accounts for bad debt write off

  • Prepare all required reports containing potential bad debt, bankruptcy notices, fees paid and collected amounts from agencies and attorneys

  • Receive and reconcile third-party invoices for approval and payment

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in related field preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in credit and collection required, preferably in the heavy equipment rental or construction industry

  • knowledge of lien laws, surety bonds, and UCC filings preferred

  • Strong customer service skills with knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer satisfaction and meeting quality standards

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with customers

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
