United Rentals Programmer Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

As an Analyst, Programmer at United Rentals, you will be responsible for analyzing user specifications and requirements related to moderately complex systems applications and generate programs to meet user needs. You’ll interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs. You’ll solve business problems and, as needed, design technical solutions.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Write application programs

  • Convert specifications into programming language

  • De-bug applications, including performing initial testing after problem has been fixed

  • Produce functional (technical) specification document

  • Outline data structures that need to change and timeframe for making changes

  • Outline steps for putting program into production

  • Implement program

  • Execute program after testing

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Certifications in IBM software

  • 3 years application development using J2SE 1.4 or higher

  • Analytically oriented with strong documentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients daily

  • Experienced in relational database analysis with strong data query skills

  • Experienced with Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Excel

  • Ability to distill information and articulate business needs to developers

  • Understanding of relationships between theoretical information and data
