United Rentals Shoring Equipment Lead in Columbus, Ohio

As a Shoring Equipment Lead at United Rentals, you will ensure workers, equipment and materials are utilized properly to maximize productivity. This includes coordinating the activities of Equipment Associates and Shoring Equipment Specialist, diagnosing and supervising the repair of equipment to ensure that work is performed efficiently. You will also maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.

Additional duties include the following:
Plan, organize, and schedule Service Technician activities as needed
Supervise work tasks and ensure work is being done accurately
Manage work flow in shop and yard
Manage maintenance schedules on yard equipment (Forklifts, Pressure washers, air compressors)
Work with Operations Supervisor /Manager on daily workflow priorities
Manage annual inspections (winch, SRL, ETC)
Audit inspections/Ensure accuracy
Demonstrate strong Safety Leadership
Train on FAST Yard Apps
Perform PM procedures for small engines (oil changes, fuel additive or replacement, replace/clean spark plugs, water gaskets on hydro pumps)
Repair manhole braces and speed struts
Gas Monitor Test & Calibration
Recommend Best Practices and Continuous Improvements
Other duties assigned as needed
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience handling Trench Shoring equipment
Minimum two years as Shoring Equipment Specialist or equivalent experience
Work under limited supervision and mostly independently
Working Knowledge of company computer systems
Expert knowledge of Trench SOP's
Working knowledge of Tab Data
Ability to lead diverse equipment assembly, disassembly, and testing procedures (ex. Mega Brace, Manhole Brace, Slide Rail, Shield Arches)
Advanced ability to train on equipment visual inspection
Ability to train on equipment assembly, disassembly, and safe handling
Advanced customer advice and assurance skills
Advanced vendor/third party advice and assurance skills
Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and seldom lifting up to 75 lbs.
