United Rentals Region Product Developement Manager in La Porte, Texas
The RPDM acts as a single point of contact for Fluid Solutions products and services for the National & Strategic Accounts in their book of business. The RPDM is the Fluid Solutions liaison with national account managers, government account managers, strategic account managers, and sales representatives from all Company business units. The RPDM is also a technical resource, providing training and project support to customers for new and existing product lines, while educating other business units on Fluid Solutions products and applications. The purpose of the position is to drive incremental profitable revenue for the Fluid Solutions business within the Fluid Solutions region and for the company through lead sharing and trade area cooperation.
Key Account Single Point of Contact 65%
§ *Target and focus on the development of National Account relationships for UR Fluid Solutions division within their book of business. Work with local sales representatives and all business units to drive incremental revenue for these accounts
§ *Liaison with other UR Divisions/Departments to network and promote the Fluid Solutions products and services
§ *Work closely with national account managers, strategic account managers, government account managers, and local sales representatives, to provide their larger customers Fluid Solutions products, services and technical expertise.
§ *In partnership with National Account Managers, to manage rate structure and strategies for National Accounts.
§ *Accompany sales representatives, as subject matter expert, on more technically complex sales calls and assist sales representatives in selecting the proper equipment to provide the customer with the most cost effective solution.
Product Training: 15%
§ *Develop & conduct Fluid Solutions application training programs for sales team.
§ *Ongoing training development as needed focusing on existing and new products
§ *Mentor BMs and OSRs products and applications
Use Sales Force Automation (SFA) and other tools to provide business intelligence to sales team. Also act as technical resource to sales team. 20%
§ *Working closely with corporate sales/business intelligence, provide leads to sales representatives using SFDC, Dodge, PEC and other information tools. Use data tools to identify large customer projects.
§ *Provide weekly/monthly activity reports.
§ *Provide direction and support in Marketing. (Trade Show's, Telemarketing, Mailers, Data Base, Print Advert, Trade Associations, and other marketing efforts)
§ *Support Recruiting effort on Branch Management and Sales Rep levels
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Minimum 7 years of technical rental sales experience preferably in the Fluid Solutions or other United Rentals product/services line
Minimum 3 years of sales supervisory experience, with ability to effectively train, motivate and influence all levels of the sales/management organization
Working knowledge of existing Fluid Solutions products and applications and how they are used in the rental market
Must possess the following skills:
§ Strategic selling and advanced negotiation and customer service skills;
§ Understanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation; business acumen
§ Engineering/mechanical aptitude: Ability to properly spec, quote, install and maintain large projects
§ Skilled communicator-written and verbal.
§ Proficiency with SFDC, Dodge, PEC or other CRM software; Proficiency with MS Office (specifically Word, and Excel)
§ Possesses the following additional competencies: leadership, strategic thinking, trade area cooperation and teamwork skills
§ Up to 60% overnight travel required
