United Rentals Regional Product Development Manager -Customer Fleet Solutions in La Porte, Texas
Description : This role can be located anywhere in the Gulf Coast area that's a reasonable distance from a major airport. As a next evolution of our growth, United Rentals is perfectly suited to assist customers in an increasing trend towards outsourcing a greater proportion of what they have traditionally done internally. To this end, we have created a small team/group to drive the pursuit of this opportunity. The focus of the Customer Fleet Solutions team will be to primarily pursue large equipment owners to help them optimize their fleets and lower their total cost of ownership through delivery of engineered fleet management solutions. Playing a critical role within the Customer Fleet Solutions team, we are seeking a Region Product Development Manager (RPDM) to effectively leverage our core competencies to deliver more value to our customers and extend our differentiation so as to be viewed as a Trusted, Strategic Partner by our customers. The RPDM acts as a single point of contact for the evolving Customer Fleet Solutions service offering in order to support the ISR's, OSR's, SAM's, NAM's, DNA's, RSMD's, and RVP's who may be responsible for relationship management at targeted accounts who seek fleet management solutions specific to the management, and operation, of customer's owned equipment. The RPDM is the Customer Fleet Solutions liaison with National Account Managers, Government Account Managers, Strategic Account Managers, and Sales Representatives from all Company business units. The RPDM is a subject matter expert resource for Customer Fleet Solutions, and services pertaining to customer owned equipment, providing training and support for internal customers, and engineered solutions for customers who seek efficiency within their owned equipment operations. The purpose of the position is to drive incremental profitable revenue for the Company within all targeted and applicable customer accounts, while driving customer entanglement in order to support, and solidify, customer relationships.
Formulate and present strategic fleet servicing solutions to customers that focus on an ROI for both the customer and UR. While not relying on consumer-type sales methods alone, effectively utilize fleet management/equipment operations aptitude, as well as United Rentals Systems and proven processes, to engineer customer specific solutions which deliver dollarized cost savings, and improved operations efficiency to the customer equipment scenario. Having the ability to not only sell, but also provide advice, as well as support, while being able to engineer fleet management programs which deliver optimized results within the customer's equipment/fleet operations is a must.
Target and focus on the development of Customer Fleet Solutions product and service offerings within assigned/targeted customers, customer segments, applicable assigned geography, and corresponding Branches, Districts, and Regions. Work with applicable internal sales team(s) members to drive incremental Customer Fleet Solutions revenue while deepening customer relationships and entanglement.
Work closely with SAM's, NAM's, DNA's, RVP's, etc. to construct applicable Scopes of Work, which effectively highlight and define program solutions. Incorporate Scopes of Work within Customer agreements while considering existing customer Rental agreements, National Account Agreements, Master Service Agreements, and legal considerations.
In tight collaboration with the appropriate Customer Fleet Services Operations Sr. Manager, ensure efficient implementation and execution of all Customer Fleet Solutions customer programs. Participate, Facilitate, and Conduct Performance Review meetings for all programs ensuring dollarized cost-savings are greater than cost of services. Manage, and provide oversight, in the on-going success of all programs. Identify continuous improvement opportunities with all programs to support on-going customer entanglement.
While working in unison with the Customer Equipment Servicing (CES) group and Customer Equipment Servicing (CES) product offering, support internal and external customers, as a subject matter expert, with delivery of fleet servicing of customer owned equipment, and (when applicable) support the development of fleet management solutions above and beyond transactional maintenance services.
Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
10+ years' sales experience, preferably in branch or sales management and with large account experience selling complex solutions.
Operations experience, specific to equipment operations, is highly desirable.
Strong planning, problem-solving and negotiation skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and proficient computer skills.
Knowledge of construction or related equipment is preferred; however, candidates with comparable industry experience, a strong sales acumen and record of achievement will also be considered.
Independent and possess strong research and organizational skills.

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
Must be able to obtain Security Clearance to be allowed onsite (Industrial, Nuclear, etc.)
Travel 50% and reside within close proximity to an airport for frequent travel.
May need to lift over 20 lbs at times.
