United Rentals Truck Driver/Yard Hand in Saanichton, British Columbia

As a Truck Driver/Equipment Associate at United Rentals, your goal will be to deliver small equipment to our customers in a safe, timely, efficient and courteous manner using an auto transmission 3 ton roll back truck and 3/4 ton pickup. You will also organize, wash, fuel and stage equipment when it comes back off of rent from our customers.

This is a full time, permanent unionized role including:

Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Drop off and pick up equipment for customers

  • Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

  • Suggest equipment and supplies to meet customers’ other needs

  • Maintain the yard by staging and organizing equipment

  • Checking equipment for repairs or damage

  • Washing, fueling and performing minor repairs on equipment

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Class 3 or 5 driver’s license with acceptable driving record

  • 6 Months experience, 1 year preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

  • Diligent attention to safety
