United Rentals Trainer, Corporate Safety in San Angelo, Texas

The Trainer, Corporate Safety will act as a safety subject matter expert responsible for the design, creation, updating and occasional field delivery of Safety Training Programs to all levels of United Rentals employees and customers. The Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training in a variety of formats including: classroom, online blended, WebEx, virtual reality (VR) simulators, VR "OneRoom" and others as necessary.

Responsible to perform quality control reviews within assigned areas to ensure a consistent, high quality delivery of safety training programs.

Training Delivery/Training Initiatives

  • Design safety training programs to meet Company and customer requirements and enhance the United Academy course library. Focus on industry excellence, compliance with governmental regulations, promotion of the safe operation of equipment on jobsites, and any other safety training needs that fit within the core training product offering of United Rentals.

  • Participate on project teams and work with the Corporate Training Manager to identify and satisfy organizational training needs.

  • Work with Training Development Specialists to create effective safety training using multiple delivery methods for content including classroom, web based, video, and proctored group learning.

  • Develop, manage and update training materials to include, but not limited to, student manuals, trainer manuals, PowerPoint presentations and handouts in accordance with regulatory and other change requirements.

  • Train, coach and mentor the Divisional Safety Trainers and branch Certified Trainers and Evaluators to ensure consistent and complete delivery of all safety training programs to include a quality control review of programs and procedures in accordance with UA quality standards and IPAF policies.

  • Manage the Virtual Reality Simulator and OneRoom® rental fleet and work with vendors on maintenance and repair requests.

  • Complete and upload all training records as required by course in a detailed, organized and timely manner.

Requirements:

Education : Bachelor Degree in a related field preferred

Experience :

  • Equipment operator experience

  • 4-6 years training experience in a business setting

  • Strong Project Management experience, preferably in a training environment

  • Knowledge and ability to deliver training in multiple formats including classroom, WebEx, blended and virtual reality

Other Skills Required:

  • Excellent public speaking and oral and written communication skills

  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to organize, prioritize, handle time constraints and manage shifting priorities

  • Strong knowledge of the theories and concepts applicable to adult learning

  • In depth knowledge of U.S. and Canadian equipment regulations and standards

  • Excellent PC skills, with a high level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Working Conditions:

  • Travel approximately 50%

  • Office and classroom

  • May need to lift over 50 lbs at times (e.g. simulators, promotional items, other as needed)
