United Rentals Reporting Specialist -- Government Accounts in Scottsdale, Arizona

As a Reporting Specialist -- Government Accounts you will provide support to the Government Sales Team and Vice President, Field Sales through reporting and analysis. You will work directly with our government team to understand, define and document existing reporting goals, needs and requirements and create new reporting for upcoming needs. Additional responsibilities will include the following:

  • Responsible for mock up, development, implementation of internal customer requested reporting needs

  • Perform analysis on customer and equipment data and provide ad hoc analysis reporting for state and federal customers. Must be proficient in Excel in creating pivot tables, writing macros and formulas to analyze the data for final reporting as needed. This includes reconciliation of credits, calculation of discounts provided and provision of the final data by inputting into reports that are predefined by the customer.

  • Retrieve and utilize data from COGNOS and other data sources, format for specific report to include Excel and Salesforce.com, complete the specific reports and submit to end customer by due date. Develop, coordinate, distribute and maintain these reports as directed.

  • Identify and create automation and process improvement ideas for reporting

  • Write and maintain processes related to all standard reporting, adding new reporting requirements and keep calendar of due dates

  • Update accounts which are eligible for cooperative pricing agreements

  • Assist Government Customer Care Center with state and local agency Registrations

  • Refine reports as directed by the Vice President, Field Sales

  • Provide budgetary analysis as directed by the Vice President, Field Sales

This is a temporary part-time position

Requirements:

Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job experience preferred. 2 - 4 years of data analysis. Strong technical skills including the ability to merge data from various sources, write formulas to summarize data, translate data into user friendly reports and into mandated reporting formats requested from governmental entities. Proven in depth experience with reporting tools, such as Excel and Cognos.

Ability to prioritize work and multi task, willing to take on new projects and be flexible. Excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on clear articulation. Strong focus on both internal and external customer service. Excellent organizational and time management skills with heavy attention to detail required. Ability to deal with a high volume of tasks, stressful, and sometimes unfamiliar situations.
