United Rentals Warranty Administrator in Scottsdale, Arizona


In accordance with the United Rentals, Inc. Warranty Policy, this position involves processing and resolution of branch warranty claims and product complaints including branch/manufacturer communications.

  • Warranty telephone coverage, fielding branch & manufacturer requests and questions.

  • Organize and review work orders to determine warranty claim eligibility.

  • File claims manually and on-line with manufacturers on a daily basis.

  • Perform claim maintenance in Rental Man recording claims sent to manufacturers.

  • Process and track warranty claims until resolution has been recorded.

  • Communicate as needed with branches and suppliers to facilitate the reimbursement of the warranty claims or re-filing if necessary.

  • Coordinate additional information requests from the branches as required.

  • Record credit memos and/or denials in claim maintenance for all warranty claims.

  • Special analysis projects, presentations and assistance to Asst. Warranty Manager as needed.

  • Attend and prepare manufacturer information for supplier meetings as needed.

  • Research and record status of claims for monthly claim aging & controller spreadsheets for follow up and resolution of outstanding claims.

  • Create manufacturer informational sheets for intranet posting.

  • Conduct and participate in warranty webex classes.


Education : Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in a corporate environment is strongly suggested.

Experience :

  • 1+ years of experience working in a professional office setting is required.

  • Experience with Claims, Warranty, or Customer Service highly preferred.

  • Professional experience with heavy equipment, vehicles or machinery a plus.

  • Hands on experience with AS400 a plus.

Other Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel in the organization.

  • Conduct self in a business and ethical manner continually improving manufacturer/company relations. Also, interfacing with United Rentals, Inc. branch personnel.

  • Capable of making decisions; good communications skills; and computer literate.

  • Be informed and knowledgeable of all models of equipment and all changes on the various models from each manufacturer
