United Rentals Business Analyst (Compensation & HRIS) in Stamford, Connecticut


The Compensation & HRIS Analyst plays a key role in supporting the annual compensation process and providing HR systems support. This role is responsible for data research and analysis in support of compensation and HRIS objectives.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist with annual compensation process. Participates in system preparation, which includes system testing, system table maintenance, data audits, preparing ad hoc reports, system training, and providing support to client groups and HR team members.

  • Provide system administration support for the compensation data and job description management tools.

  • Complete annual salary survey submittals. Assist with researching and providing relevant information on current and upcoming competitive labor markets to ensure competitiveness of pay at the local level.

  • Provides HRIS user/customer support, which includes but not limited to: Employee Self Service (ESS); Manager Self Service (MSS); reports; user training; troubleshooting process and data issues.

  • Monitors data integrity by conducting various data audits, which includes running ad hoc reports aimed to maintain data integrity.

  • Assist with the research, design, development, documentation, testing, and implementation of HRIS enhancements, customizations, and upgrades.

  • Participates on a number of compensation and HRIS projects in support of achieving annual objectives.


Education : Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience : 2-5 years HRIS or HCM application experience preferred. Compensation experience a plus. Other Skills Required:

  • Strong Microsoft office skills, excel, word, PowerPoint skills. PeopleSoft experience a plus.

  • Must be detail oriented, with proven quantitative, analytical, organizational and research skills.

  • Ability to compile and analyze large data sets and make recommendations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong ability to multi-task and respond effectively to changing priorities and demands

  • Demonstrates strong level of internal customer service

  • Works well collaboratively within own group and cross functionally to achieve goals
