The United Rentals Treasury team offers a fast-paced, team-focused, environment that provides many challenging opportunities for developing one's financial, analytical, and Treasury skillsets.

Responsible for daily corporate cash management activities. Provides corporate and branch support for cash management issues. Will support Treasury Manager by assisting in the implementation and follow through of new initiatives.

Determine daily cash needs for corporation:

  • Make borrowing recommendation for Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer's approval

  • Reconcile forecasted to actual transactions for total company cash payments and wire transfers

  • On a daily basis monitor and transfer funds from various lockbox, depository, and sorting accounts

  • Complete reports of cash activity in United Rentals Corporate accounts including updates to various Excel models utilized by various departments

Collect, review and process wire requests:

  • Follow up on requests and ensure appropriate sign off occurs

  • Enter wire transfers into banking platform

Open & close bank accounts, update signatory information when necessary, add and remove banking platform users, forward bank statements and lockbox receipts when offices close or consolidate, and coordinate with Banks for opening/closing of branches

Manage check and cash collections at the corporate headquarters:

  • Make bi-weekly bank deposits of check and cash

  • Maintain locked storage of checks and cash

  • Provide Accounting with timely notice of check receipt and deposit

Prepare month-end GL upload:

  • Input and maintain cash activity and debt balances in the Treasury Workstation

  • Research unknown items credited to the concentration account

Monitor and track foreign exchange trades:

  • Correspond with counterparty back office to confirm trades and settlement instructions

  • Monitor trades and ensure timely execution by counterparty


Education : Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.

Experience: 0-2 years related experience

Other Skills Required:

  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills required.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills necessary.

  • Exceptional ability to multitask, provide attention to detail, and maintaining a professional attitude.

  • Must possess exceptional time management skills.
