The Summer Intern will be responsible for a number of projects and tasks that support the corporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (“DEI”) department. The intern will gain experience in one or more key functional areas and will gain an understanding of the company’s DEI strategy and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Research key benchmarking surveys and build a matrix of consistent factors that will influence future initiatives and actions
Create and launch self-ID campaign and roundtables to increase diverse representation
Design DEI workshop activities for in-person meetings
Research DEI Trends and their potential impact on United Rentals
Consider meaningful employee touchpoints
Assist with meeting objectives, while providing superior customer service
Various projects related to the business which may cover multiple categories
Participation in departmental and cross-functional work sessions, conference calls and WebEx meetings
Requirements:
Current university or college student in Human Resources, DEI/Multicultural Studies, Communications/Marketing, American Studies or related program
1 year minimum of human resources or communications/marketing experience
Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to deal with employees at all levels
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and research/draft communications, keen attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Hybrid schedule at corporate headquarters in Stamford, CT
