United Rentals Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis in Stamford, Connecticut

As a Sr. Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis at United Rentals, you are responsible for analyzing monthly operating results and developing data driven analytical models to deliver insights to senior leadership and act as the primary finance partner for growing Services line of business.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Prepare periodic financial reporting to support business needs (eg. weekly expense trending, monthly/quarterly KPIs).

  • Analyze financial performance on targeted P&L lines and develop financial models in Excel and Tableau to deliver insights to senior leadership and influence operational decision making

  • Participate in time sensitive monthly consolidated company forecast and annual budget process and perform detailed research of material account variances

  • Assist business leaders of growing Services line of business with: monthly forecasting and annual planning process; preparation of monthly financial statements for business review; participate in accounting close, including preparing journal entries and limited account reconciliations

  • Support other corporate department leaders with monthly forecasting and annual planning process, including training users on the company’s financial planning system

  • Provide ad hoc analysis to identify business opportunities, issues and recommend action plans

  • Other duties assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • CPA or CMA preferred

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in: budgeting & forecasting; creating financial models; basic GAAP accounting; Tableau & SQL experience preferred

  • Strong Excel skills required, experience with creating Power Point presentations preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical & communication skills (written & oral)
